Freezer Operator (2nd Shift)

About the role

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Freezer Operator to join our team. This position operates in a freezer environment and requires a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Properly count work in process product from production place into WIP Freezer
• Ensure Product is covered and properly put away and track quantity and location
• Conduct cycle counts daily for correct inventory
• Stages WIP product for operations and tracks the quantity and product in and out of the WIP Freezer
• Responsible for quality control; no damage product allowed into freezer and must be properly stored
• Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Safely utilizes pallet jacks
• Completes shift logs of product in and out of WIP freezer
• Cleans and maintains work area clean at all times
• Turns off and locks out equipment when not in use
• Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation
• Willing to work overtime, including weekends if necessary
• Must be able to read and write in either English or Spanish
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment requiring strict work/safety rules 100% of the time
• Must be able to work in a freezer environment
• Able to stand for at least ten hours per day and may have various repetitive motion duties
• Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend
• Employee must lift up to 50 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if limit is exceeded
• Must be able to keep eyes focused on a conveyor belt for a maximum five hours at one time
• Must be able to work in a food allergens environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a similar role preferred
