About the role
As a Warehouse Selector at Gordon Food Service's Distribution Center in Wyoming, MI, you will be responsible for selecting products, lifting up to 100 pounds, working in freezer conditions, and being on your feet for 10‑hour shifts. No prior experience is required; training is provided by a dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Select products according to pick lists, scanners, and signage
- Lift up to 100 pounds
- Work in freezer (extreme cold) and/or hot conditions
- Remain on feet for up to 10 hours per shift
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Complete paperwork related to benefits, updates, and company information
- Maintain safety and productivity standards
- Contribute to seamless order processing and delivery for customers
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (freezer environment)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English (labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website, paperwork, verbal instructions)
- Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check
- Prior warehouse experience preferred but not required
- Veterans and active military members encouraged to apply
- If currently employed by a Gordon Food Service customer, provide a letter of support from management if selected for interview

Pay
Starting wage $22.70 per hour (includes shift premium and freezer premium). Opportunity for two pay raises within the first year. Earn additional pay based on speed and efficiency. On average, selectors take home 122% of base salary.
Schedule
Work schedule: Sunday–Wednesday, with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off. Second shift: 4 pm–2 am. Approximate finish time may vary based on work volume.
