Freelance Video Editor – Remote Contract

Responsibilities

• Select and organize interview, b-roll, and archival footage to build compelling narratives
• Complete picture edits, ensuring clarity and engagement
• Color correct and grade log footage for a professional finish
• Clean and mix audio tracks for clarity and consistency
• Source and integrate appropriate music
• Create basic motion graphics as needed
• Deliver final edits in specified formats, including vertical social cutdowns for social media
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and adhere to deadlines

Requirements

• Proven experience editing interview-led documentary and commercial content
• Proficiency with DaVinci Resolve preferred; Adobe Premiere also acceptable
• Strong storytelling skills and attention to narrative structure
• Experience working with 4K media and cinema-camera footage
• Ability to color grade and mix audio to a professional standard
• Familiarity with basic motion graphics creation
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Comfortable working independently and meeting tight deadlines
• Willingness to work on political and advocacy projects
• Availability for quick project turnarounds (2–4 days)

About the role

This is an urgent opportunity with a fast turnaround of 2 to 4 days per project and the potential for ongoing assignments.
