Freelance (Senior) Contract manager Security

For one of our clients in the Brussels region, we are looking for a (Senior) Contract Manager focusing on the timely execution of all contract management tasks, predominantly in IT Security domains. The assignment is for up to 36 months.

About the role

The Contract & Vendor Manager will join the Purchase IT, Contract & Vendor Management department, part of the wider IT organisation. The role combines contract and vendor management, IT sourcing, stakeholder management, and procurement activities in a technically complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Cybersecurity sourcing: Lead the day-to-day coordination between the CISO team, Contract Management, and Procurement to define and execute the most effective sourcing strategy for cybersecurity products and services. Ensure alignment among all relevant stakeholders.
• IT hardware & software sourcing: Coordinate between operational IT teams and Procurement to ensure business and technical requirements are properly translated into procurement requirements.
• Tendering & contract award: Lead the preparation and design of requests for quotation/tender documentation, support supplier evaluation and selection, and coordinate contract awards in line with applicable public procurement regulations. Contribute directly to the IT sourcing strategy.
• Contract & vendor management: Manage an assigned portfolio of IT contracts and suppliers, monitoring contractual performance, supplier relationships, and ongoing obligations in collaboration with IT colleagues.
• Public procurement compliance: Ensure procurement and contract management processes comply with public-sector procurement rules and regulations. Experience with government or public-sector procurement is a strong advantage.
• Stakeholder management: Act as a central point of coordination between technical teams, CISO, Procurement, Contract Management, and other stakeholders. Build alignment and maintain effective working relationships in a complex environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Contract Management, Vendor Management, or a similar role within an IT environment.
• Relevant experience with cybersecurity, software, and/or IT hardware.
• Experience with government, public-sector, or other regulated procurement environments is a strong plus.
• Good understanding of IT processes, procurement processes, and business processes in general.
• Comfortable working in a technical environment and able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder-management and coordination skills.
• Good working knowledge of Dutch, French, and English.
