Freelance audio technicians in Washington, DC

iProbe Multilingual Solutions, Inc., a New York City based company, is seeking freelance Audio Technicians in and around Washington DC with live events and staging experience.

About the role

Set up, operate, and strike Simultaneous Interpretation Systems during events at hotels, conference centers, corporate offices, and museums. Systems are wireless (RF or IR).

• Set up isolation booths and wireless interpretation equipment in the VHF band (72 MHz) or run digital IR for 20–200 attendees in the same (small) room.
• Monitor wireless audio during events.
• Identify sources of noise and troubleshoot wireless systems.
• Maintain a professional and polished image under all circumstances.
• Communicate effectively with clients.
• Lift 50+ lbs.

Dress code varies by job: business (black suit and tie) or show black.

Requirements

• Experience with wireless (RF/IR) systems.
• Ability to work independently and take charge (for lead and senior techs).
• Professional demeanor and client-friendly attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and/or own vehicle is a plus.
• For lead and senior techs: preference for A1/A2’s with solid RF experience.
• For assistant techs: service-minded professionals with an interest in AV; experience setting up full isolation booths or willingness to learn.

Pay

Assistant work is paid hourly. Day rates are based on a 10-hour day; include your day rate and half-day rate in your application subject line.
