Freelance audio technicians in NYC

iProbe Multilingual Solutions, Inc. is a New York City-based company seeking freelance Audio Technicians in the NYC metro area with live events and staging experience.

About the role

Set up, operate, and strike Simultaneous Interpretation Systems during events at hotels, conference centers, corporate offices, and museums. Systems are wireless (RF or IR). Jobs mainly involve setting up isolation booths and wireless interpretation equipment in the VHF band (72 MHz) or digital IR for 20–200 attendees in the same room, as well as monitoring wireless audio during events.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate wireless interpretation systems (RF or IR)
• Identify sources of noise and troubleshoot technical issues
• Monitor wireless audio during events
• Maintain a professional and polished image at all times
• Communicate effectively with clients
• Lift 50+ lbs

Requirements

• Experience with wireless systems (RF/IR)
• Ability to work independently and take charge (for lead/senior roles)
• Professional demeanor and client-friendly attitude
• Valid driver’s license and/or own vehicle is a plus
• For lead/senior techs: A1/A2 experience with solid RF expertise
• For assistant techs: Interest in AV and willingness to learn
• Dress code varies by job (business attire or show black)

Pay

Assistant work is typically paid hourly. Rates should be included in your application based on a 10-hour day (full day and half-day rates).
