About the role

As a Financial Manager of an established FP&A organization, you will serve as an FP&A Partner for the General and Administrative (G&A) organizations and lead consolidations. You will partner with the teams to ensure operational plans are aligned with financial goals and create transparency and deliver important insights and suggestions that allows us to make the right decisions to propel the business forward. You will work with the team to deliver insights, guide annual and long range planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly plan vs. actual performance analysis. You will also coordinate with other Finance team members to guide the monthly closing and reporting process.

Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted advisor to leaders of assigned departments and lead their budgeting and forecasting activities, including long range planning and execution and ensuring operational plans are following financial budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare and lead the monthly financial review of results meetings with the business department's leaders and finance leadership team.
  • Provide transparency into actual results and forward-looking analyses, including foresight into investment needs, margin trends and competitive benchmarking.
  • Analyze historical performance to understand trends and key drivers.
  • Made recommendations to improve performance and processes based on findings.
  • Create and present detailed visualizations of financial data for senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Company, including parent company teams, Accounting, Tax, HR, Pricing, Commercial and Operations Support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.

Competencies

  • Excellent communication / collaboration skills required; role involves building strong relationships across the organization, communicating and presenting ideas clearly to management and influencing decision making
  • Must be a proactive & highly organized self-starter, able to work independently and under tight deadlines
  • Experience turning financial data into relevant insights that support sound decisions
  • Experience working with Financial Planning tools, ideally Adaptive or similar (Anaplan, Vena, Netsuite Financial Planning)
  • Demonstrated ability to turn financial data into relevant insights that support sound decisions
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous process improvement
  • Extraordinary Excel / PowerPoint / financial modeling skills

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in FP&A.

Pay

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in [city, state]. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than [city, state] may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $114,750.00 to $153.00.00

Schedule

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role. Medidata follows a hybrid office policy in which employees who are hired for an in-person position are expected to work on site a certain number of days per week following Company policy.
