About the role
We're looking for a skilled SDR/BDR to help us scale our outbound efforts. This role is hybrid, with 3 days a week in our San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity and excited to build something new.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect into our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), focusing on technical SaaS and AI companies with 250+ employees.
- Build and run outbound sequences across email, LinkedIn, and phone, experimenting with messaging, timing, and persona targeting.
- Partner with Account Executives (AEs) to ensure smooth handoffs and use deal feedback to refine your approach.
- Work alongside Demand Generation to coordinate on market signals, using tools like job postings, G2 reviews, and product page visitors.
- Monitor intent triggers and personalize outreach based on data-driven insights.
- Help define what "good" looks like in terms of conversion benchmarks, messaging templates, and outreach cadences.
- Bring your learnings back to the team, sharing what's resonating and what needs improvement.
Requirements
- 2+ years of SDR or BDR experience selling B2B SaaS, particularly to technical buyers (support, engineering, or operations).
- Absolutely obsessed with personalization; you don't send generic messages, you tailor them to each recipient.
- Comfortable using AI tools like Claude Code to speed up outreach while maintaining quality.
- Energetic about spaces where the playbook doesn't exist yet and eager to contribute to building something meaningful.
- Curious about the product, the market, and the customers, wanting to understand why Plain stands out.
- Willing to be in the office, building relationships with AEs, and staying plugged into the market.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and the ability to craft compelling messages.
- Experience with CRM tools and the ability to manage multiple accounts effectively.
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
- Passion for technology and a deep understanding of the SaaS and AI markets.
Skills
- Outbound sales experience, preferably in B2B SaaS.
- Proficiency in CRM tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
