Founding Growth
About the role
Most job posts are designed to collect as many applications as possible. This is not one of them. At Simplify, we work directly with startup founders to help them hire for high-priority roles. We're partnering with a fast-growing AI inference company in San Francisco to make their Founding Growth hire — the person who will build the marketing function from scratch and own how the company shows up across positioning, content, social, launches, events, customer stories, and distribution.
About the company
One-liner: Building AI systems that automatically optimize inference workloads across silicon — making LLM inference faster, cheaper, and more energy-efficient. Stage: Small, well-funded team growing quickly, HQ in SF. They serve trillions of tokens a month for mission-critical workloads, and their customers include Vercel and Neon Health. Most marketing roles inherit a brand, a calendar, and a working playbook. This one does not. You will work directly with the founders and GTM lead to define the strategy, create the assets, ship the work, measure what matters, and decide what should happen next. One week might mean turning an engineering result into a product launch, writing posts for the company and its founders, and improving a landing page. The next might mean organizing a dinner for AI infrastructure leaders, interviewing a customer for a case study, or coordinating a podcast or press opportunity.
What you'll work on
- Define marketing strategy, audiences, positioning, narrative, priorities, and the operating calendar
- Make highly technical differentiation clear without oversimplifying it
- Develop the company's voice and visual direction, then create content for the website, X, LinkedIn, newsletters, video, and other relevant formats
- Build founder-led social by turning technical work, ideas, and market observations into distinctive posts, essays, and commentary
- Plan and execute product, model, partnership, research, and company launches across owned channels, communities, press, podcasts, and partners
- Own conferences, dinners, meetups, workshops, and developer events from concept and audience selection through execution and follow-up
- Work with engineers and customers to produce accurate case studies, technical articles, benchmark narratives, videos, and sales materials
- Keep the website current and distribute work through social, email, communities, events, partners, and targeted programs
- Build a practical scorecard and lightweight workflows using AI, automation, contractors, and software
What we look for
- Exceptional writing, with samples of work you personally created
- Early-stage experience where the strategy, process, and assets were not already
