About the role
The role of Founder & CEO at NightWatch One involves building and scaling a new technology solution for US senior living facilities. NightWatch One is a mobile UWB-radar robot designed to patrol corridors at night, providing real-time movement data without the need for cameras or wearable devices. The goal is to reduce staffing costs and improve resident safety by automating night shift coverage.
Responsibilities
- Define the wedge between current staffing practices and potential savings through automation.
- Choose the operator profile and the 3-state cluster (consistent regulation) where the first pilots will be conducted.
- Work with our partner's robotics teams to develop the night-patrol robot and its remote-monitoring layer from concept to a fleet-operated system.
- Land 2-3 CCRC/senior-living operators and demonstrate FTE substitution through pilot sequences, ensuring service levels are maintained with fewer night heads.
- Frame the buy as an ROI decision for the CFO/COO, positioning it as redeployment rather than redundancy.
- Drive the economics of the business, pushing the robots-to-operator ratio towards optimal levels.
- Hire the initial team, raise capital, and establish NightWatch One as the automation layer for senior living facilities.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- A background in building hardware or robotics products from zero to one, preferably in the US market.
- Deep knowledge of at least one buyer segment: US senior living/CCRC operators, eldercare, or enterprise facilities operations.
- An ability to navigate multi-site operator sales cycles and convert pilots into fleet rollouts.
- Strong product and technical instincts, capable of reasoning about robotics, sensing, edge compute, and unit economics.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations, shaping the product, defining the buyer, and making irreversible decisions based on incomplete data.
- Credibility with conservative care operators and forward-looking venture investors, and a willingness to be on the ground in the US.
- A passion for category creation, building the operational backbone for how America ages, starting with robots.
