Foundational Department Administrative Assistant 2
About the role
The Foundational Department Administrative Assistant 2 reports to the Operations Manager and serves as the primary point of contact for the Foundational Practice Department in the College of Nursing. Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive administrative support to the department chair, coordinating departmental programs, and serving as a liaison between the chair and faculty.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the department chair.
- Coordinate departmental programs.
- Serve as a liaison between the chair and faculty.
- Exercise delegated authority to coordinate and provide administrative and staff support services during the absence of a supervisor, ensuring continuity of operations and adherence to established policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of clerical, office or administrative experience; OR one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Experience preparing correspondence, reports, and/or presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and events.
- Demonstrated experience effectively handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Demonstrated experience providing exemplary customer service.
- Strong computer skills including familiarity and comfort with using Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint as well as Google Docs.
- Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse clientele.
- Able to maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups.
- Willingness and ability to take on new assignments and learn new skills as required.
Qualifications

Pay
Monthly Salary: $3,738 to $4,980 (Steps A-M) | Range 41 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step.
Schedule
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
