About the role
The Foster Matchmaker Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that animals in need find loving homes. They are responsible for matching potential adopters with suitable foster families based on the animal’s needs and personality.
Responsibilities
- Match prospective adopters with suitable foster families based on animal needs and personalities.
- Communicate regularly with both adopters and foster families to ensure the animals are being cared for properly.
- Ensure all foster animals are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
- Document all interactions and progress reports for each foster animal.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive support for foster care programs.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working with animals or familiarity with animal welfare organizations is a plus.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least one year of experience in a customer service or administrative role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
