About the role
Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson's continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. Responsibilities
- Support, guidance, coordination, and intervention to their assigned youth and families in the Foster Care program.
- Performance will be measured by individual outcomes, achieving individual targets/goals, contribution to the overall program team/department, and buy-in to the organization's culture.
- A typical day as a Foster Care Coordinator includes being punctual, arriving on time, and being prepared. Displaying trauma-informed practices and principles in interactions with customers, peers, and leadership. Ensuring documentation for all foster children meets regulatory compliance, managing the entire health record, ensuring treatment plans and authorizations adhere to policy, and providing effective crisis response as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Must have a valid Driver License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
- Education requirement for this individual contributor role is: Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills. Meets designation as a Qualified Professional in NC.
- All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
- This position will serve families in the Asheville-Hickory Region.
