FOSS-Administrative Clerk
About the role
The Administrative Clerk supports the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) regional office in Kendall. This position facilitates the operations of a local Field Office by performing various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Retrieving and bundling government-requested files and staging for government personnel
- Re-shelving files returned by government personnel
- Connecting incoming correspondence to shelved files
- Preparing for and conducting naturalization ceremonies, including printing and distributing naturalization certificates and retrieving documentation from applicants
- Supporting naturalization ceremonies by escorting applicants and collecting and logging green cards
- Providing support for the processing of forms and applications used in the adjudication process
- Scanning large multi-page documents
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Able to obtain a Public Trust/Suitability Clearance under the Department of Homeland Security from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
- Proficient in reading and understanding English
- Able to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. or more in a physical environment
- Able to perform tasks while bending, stooping, and climbing
Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
