Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

We help the largest private equity-backed portfolio companies solve their biggest data ingestion and migration problems. Our custom apps, data pipelines, integrations, and AI agents address issues like post-M&A data migration, document & data pipelines, custom operational apps, revenue & CRM operations, system integration, and more.

Responsibilities

• Embed with a portfolio company and sit with the people doing the work, learning how the business runs.
• Prototype fast, getting to a working prototype in 48 hours.
• Ship to production, taking a working prototype to live software in about four weeks.
• Own the outcome, staying on the hook until the software creates value and then handing over the software the company owns.
• Move across the portfolio, carrying what you build from one company to the next, making each engagement faster than the last.
• Be the face of ProSights on site, working directly with founders, operators, and PE deal and value-creation teams.

Requirements

• Experienced builder with 4+ years of building and shipping production software, owning outcomes.
• Strong and fast with Python, SQL, APIs, and data pipelines; comfortable building with LLMs (RAG, evals, prompting, agents).
• Full-stack enough to ship, able to put a usable app in front of a non-technical team, not just a backend.
• Strong judgment, able to diagnose ambiguous business problems, talk to operators and executives, and decide what is worth building.
• High agency, able to navigate a messy company, make things work without waiting for a spec.
