About the role

The role of a Forward Deployed Engineer at CommodityAI is to bridge the gap between AI product and physical trade operations. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of code and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Configure data schemas and AI extraction workflows to turn messy real-world documents and emails into structured, actionable trade data.
• Lead customer onboarding workstreams from initial scoping and technical configuration through to user acceptance testing and successful go-live.
• Build internal tools, scripts, and automation templates that accelerate the deployment process and create leverage for the entire engineering function.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, implementation engineering, or a technical consulting role with strong coding skills in Python or TypeScript.
• Proven technical proficiency with APIs, structured data models, and the ability to diagnose complex issues across AI-driven systems.
• Exceptional communication skills and an operator mindset, comfortable managing multiple customer workstreams in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
