Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer will reinvent how Certa gets implemented. This role involves understanding the business process, documenting and optimizing it, configuring and automating it in Certa, owning the delivery, bringing learning back from the front lines, and shaping the product based on real-world feedback.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery and design sessions with Fortune 500 teams across compliance, security, privacy, legal, procurement, finance, and sustainability.
• Map the current state and agree a target state against the metrics customers actually care about, such as onboarding cycle time, assessment turnaround, reviewer effort, and audit readiness.
• Build workflows, forms, logic, risk scoring, and approvals in Studio using Vibe Configuration℠.
• Debug workflows when they break and ensure smooth cutover, go-live, hypercare, and a clean handover.
• Bring learning back from the front lines, identifying the platform's real limits, and turning what you built into templates and accelerators.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in customer-facing technical delivery, such as forward deployed engineering, solutions architecture, implementation consulting, or technical professional services.
• Hands-on technical skills: Comfortable with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and data mapping; able to script in Python or JavaScript and debug failures across two systems.
• Production LLM experience: Worked with LLMs in production, not just in demos.
• Product-centric & shipping-biased: Think about the user in front of the screen, not the requirement in the document, and favor shipping something usable and iterating over shipping something perfect and late.
• Delivery fluency: Carried a go-live date in front of a customer, familiar with project plans, RAID logs, phase gates, test scenarios and cases, SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
• Communication: Thoughtful and streamlined, able to hold your own with senior executives and keep relationships strong.

Qualifications

• Comfortable with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and data mapping.
• Able to script in Python or JavaScript and debug a failure across two systems.
• Worked with LLMs in production.
• Think about the user in front of the screen, not the requirement in the document, and favor shipping something usable and iterating over shipping something perfect and late.
• Carried a go-live date in front of a customer.
• Have domain knowledge in third-party risk, procurement, or compliance (a plus).

Skills

• Understanding of third-party risk management, procurement, or compliance processes.
• Experience with no-code platforms and configuration tools like Vibe Configuration℠.
