Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) sitting at the intersection of engineering, solutions architecture, and customer success. In this role, you will be embedded directly with our most strategic customers — writing code, designing systems, and driving outcomes in the field. You are part engineer, part consultant, and part product thinker.

Responsibilities

• Embed with strategic customers to understand their technical environments, workflows, and business goals
• Design and build custom integrations, workflows, and solutions using our platform and APIs
• Lead technical onboarding and deployment efforts for enterprise customers, ensuring fast time-to-value
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales to translate customer feedback into product improvements
• Develop reusable assets such as reference architectures, code samples, and documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in customer environments, often under time pressure
• Act as a technical champion for customers internally, influencing the product roadmap
• Support pre-sales by participating in technical discovery, demos, and proof-of-concept engagements
• Travel to customer sites as needed (up to 30–50% depending on business needs)

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers in a technical capacity
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and modern software architecture
• Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments
