Formula & Milk Technician PRN

About the role

Responsible for the preparation and delivery of all formula and breast milk. This position ensures the safe and effective operation of equipment needed to prepare orders and maintain sanitation in the preparation room.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers formula, breast milk, and donor breast milk per patient's order on the electronic medical record.
• Calculates volumes and additives based on recipes.
• Maintains adequate stock of products in preparation area, unit nourishment area, and pump rooms.
• Stores formula and breast milk using the first in, first out method.
• Processes orders utilizing the electronic medical record system, including printing reports to ensure accuracy of order preparation and printing labels for all prepared milk.
• Tracks breast milk by updating the milk recipe book and kardex according to the latest orders.
• Charges patients for preparation services utilizing the electronic medical record process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No formal education required; high school diploma or GED recommended.
• Entry-level position; experience not required.

Recommended Certifications

• Formula Human Milk Technician – Abbott Nutrition Health Institute
• ServSafe Food Handler – ServSafe

Pay

Most new hires start between $16.30 and $20.30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
