About the role

This position is responsible for ensuring all products and materials are loaded, unloaded, and processed through the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner using a motor-powered forklift. Team members will be fully re-trained and certified on forklift during orientation.

Must pass post-offer health assessment and drug screening. Cold storage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move around the work area at a fast pace for up to 12 hours per shift; bend, squat, lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Follow all Tyson policies and safety guidelines.
  • Use a handheld scanner to track products as they are moved around the facility.
  • Perform any or all of the following sub-duties:
    • Receiver – Accurately receive product into the building using powered industrial trucks (PIT).
    • Put Away – Pull received product and place it into racking; may palletize or split pallets.
    • Replenisher – Pull pallets from racking to replenish pick faces.
    • Picker – Pull product (case or full pallet) to fill and build customer orders.
    • Loader – Load trucks efficiently to avoid product damage or loss.

Work environment

  • Operate stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers in damp, cold environments ranging from -5°F to 30°F for up to 12 hours.
  • Stand or walk up to 100% of the time.
  • Provided PPE includes freezer suit, hearing protection, gloves, and headwear.
  • Team members must furnish their own ANSI-rated (75+ PSI) steel or composite-toe boots with slip-resistant soles that cover the ankles.

Physical requirements

  • Full range of motion in arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, digits, and legs.
  • Able to stand for extended periods with a sense of balance.
  • May work with corrective lenses if vision problems exist.
  • May be provided additional hearing protection as needed.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate across all management levels.
