About the role

We are looking for a dependable Forklift Operator/Dock Attendant on the 2nd shift who takes pride in being part of a team that keeps local freight moving.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with a 6:00 PM start time.

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of forklift trucks and pallet jacks in the unloading and loading of freight, including hazardous materials.
  • Using safe lifting techniques, efficiently sorting, handling, unloading, and loading freight into/from straight trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Complying with all aspects of dock paperwork procedures while moving freight.
  • Ensuring that freight moved matches all aspects of the associated paperwork (BOL, invoice) or cross dock.
  • Proper marking or re-marking of freight per procedure(s).
  • Active participation in training and safety programs.
  • Adherence to operational procedures and guidelines as outlined in the procedure manual.
  • Pre- and post-trip inspections on all dock equipment.
  • Flexibility to work to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and safe environment.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned or delegated by supervisor, lead, or dispatch.

Requirements

  • Forklift truck certified.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to work safely, recognize hazards, and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Flexible and dependable.
  • Good time management skills to complete all required work within given time frames.
