2nd Shift -Forklift Operator
About the Role
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, trucks, or storage facilities.
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Use an RF scanner gun as required.
- Perform daily equipment checks on forklifts per OSHA guidelines.
- Obtain a copy of the production schedule or shipping order and transport material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.
- Provide raw or WHIP stock to production machines per the production schedule.
- Load and unload goods from vehicles.
- Move goods packed on pallets or slip sheets around the storage facility.
- Stack goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
- Check loads are secure.
- Stack empty pallets.
- Remove machine attachments and waste material from machines.
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
- Dump materials into machine hoppers.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Good math, language, and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.
- High degree of attention to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
- Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
