Forklift Operator - Camp Chef

About the role

This role involves providing high-level customer service and ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments are accurate, free of damage, and processed efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and instruct others on the operation of material moving equipment, including stand-up forklifts and related vehicles within the warehouse.
  • Determine the sequence for loading and unloading shipments for optimal space utilization, safety, and damage prevention.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily.
  • Perform computer lookups and inquiries to determine product locations and descriptions.
  • Receive, stock inbound shipments; unload and load materials onto or from shipping containers, pallets, racks, and shelves.
  • Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, recording amounts of items received, and counting physical inventory.
  • Operate manual dollies, platform lifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and hand tools used in warehouse operations safely and as instructed.
  • Identify and report obvious damage to equipment and materials through visual inspection.
  • Stock, arrange, and rotate warehouse items according to standard operating procedures and/or supervisor's guidance.
  • Pack and weigh orders as necessary to ensure correct products and quantities are picked and prepared for shipment.

  • Operate voice-directed picking equipment - able to hear and speak into a headset.
  • Attend to details and follow directions to meet deadlines.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures.

  • Absorb and assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or education.
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Must be an adaptive learner capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining focus, and adapting to various challenges.
  • Positive attitude - work as part of a team and/or independently.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Basic math, reading, and voice comprehension are essential.
  • Maintain regular attendance.

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for business and safety purposes.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Previous knowledge of voice replenishment and RF equipment is preferred.
  • Previous receiving experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification, warehouse procedures, and storage areas.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $19.00. The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
