Forensic-Office Support Clerk (DOH/NMBHI #13071)
Why does the job exist?
The Forensic Office Support Clerk will provide a combination of supportive services for the Forensic Division.
How does it get done?
- Oversight of patients during computerized court ordered evaluations
- Gathering, organizing, and preparing documentation for Psychology Staff
- Onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Scheduling and maintaining compliance of each employee's mandatory classes
- Maintaining the Kronos timekeeping system on a daily basis
- Performing other clerical duties as assigned
- Ensuring confidentiality and protecting sensitive patient and organizational information
Who are the customers?
Patients are referred to NMBHI from the judicial system in response to not being found competent to proceed in trial. These patients are sent for restoration treatment in order to aid and assist in moving forward with the charges against them. Referral may come from any judicial district in the state. At times, patients may stay beyond the initial competency restoration treatment for up to the length of time they were convicted of the crime they are alleged to have committed.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in working busy office setting where work is done within time-sensitive court and statutory mandates
- Experience in inpatient, correctional or forensic setting
- Experience in office settings
- Experience in scheduling and coordinating appointments
- Experience in working with others and providing professional customer service
Minimum Qualification
No prior experience or training required.
Employment Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a Drivers License
- Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage
- Sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required
- Direct client interaction and some travel may be required
