Essential Job Functions

• Provide visible leadership and consistently promote safe, productive work
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and MSHA regulations by enforcing company policies, procedures and standards
• Demonstrate leadership in achieving safety, health and environmental goals through regular safety conversations, coaching, and communication of regulatory and compliance expectations
• Investigate safety incidents and near misses and oversee implementation of corrective actions
• Conduct safety/toolbox meetings at the beginning of each shift to communicate hazards, work plans, and best practices
• Supervise a unionized workforce of approximately 12-20 employees in a 24/7 operation, providing effective people leadership through clear performance expectations, regular feedback, coaching, and development
• Foster team involvement and engagement, address employee concerns and grievances in a timely manner, and administer site progressive disciplinary policies
• Execute mine development and operational activities in accordance with mine plan specifications by managing resource utilization, cost control, and team accountability
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring work is conducted in accordance with established procedures
• Achieve assigned production targets through effective shift planning, work allocation, cross-shift coordination, and proactive identification and resolution of operational and resource allocation issues
• Obtain and maintain required explosive licensing and supervise the safe receiving, handling, and loading of explosives in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices

Minimum Required Qualifications

• 2 year technical Associate’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 years of underground mining experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant mining or supervisory
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining or related field
• Demonstrated leadership and people management capability
