Responsibilities
- Assign and coordinate daily work activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor workflow, productivity, staffing levels, and resource utilization to ensure efficient department performance.
- Ensure assemblies are completed according to engineering drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and established manufacturing processes.
- Conduct regular quality checks and address defects, nonconformances, and process issues to maintain product quality.
- Promote and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Provide coaching, training, performance feedback, and day-to-day support to assembly team members.
- Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, staffing, and employee accountability.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve production challenges and support continuous workflow.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost reduction.
- Monitor departmental metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve operational goals.
- Encourage employee engagement and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in daily production meetings, shop floor walks, and problem-solving activities to address operational issues and improve performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience, including leadership responsibilities in an assembly or production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production scheduling.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Clean driving record.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
