About the role
This position is responsible for maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. It requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.
Responsibilities
- Check daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders.
- Ensure every position is filled before start-up of production line.
- Oversee Team Member morning exercises and job rotation to facilitate ergonomics.
- Ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.
- Ensure all workstations have passed USDA Inspection.
- Promote safety on a daily basis as well as through monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure accurate shipments, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.
- Know and communicate company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members.
- Provide encouragement to Team Members to build the best team possible.
- Perform human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.
- Oversee various processing operations and work with other supervisors to solve problems.
- Keep records of reworked or returned product.
- Provide continuous education on the importance of quality.
- Perform other responsibilities as the need arises.
Requirements
- High school diploma; education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses is preferred.
- 1+ years in a manufacturing environment; prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Poultry experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills; experience with SAP preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to supervise a group of personnel performing related tasks or activities.
- 1-5 trips per year.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
