About the role

The Foreman leads the crew and operates equipment necessary to install various utilities and associated units to complete projects. This role involves supervising and assisting with all aspects of projects, including safety, team management, equipment operation, field paperwork, training, and occasional labor duties.

• Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, carry, and lift as needed
• Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet, and limbs in performing skilled movement
• 100% travel; ability to be away from home for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed all safety, quality, and productivity requirements for assigned projects
• Lead, direct, and mentor crews to ensure on-time completion while meeting financial and non-financial objectives
• Manage staffing projects, recruit new talent, retain existing employees, and promote career advancement
• Handle employee relation issues, including recognition, discipline, and performance evaluations
• Recommend subcontractors for approval and initiate training/cross-training for personnel
• Oversee daily scheduling and take corrective action to meet deadlines
• Monitor project performance for productivity, safety, and quality; resolve issues as needed
• Review and approve employee timecards and complete required production reports
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on construction equipment and report issues to the Fleet Manager
• Report weekly equipment hours, miles, and other relevant information to the Fleet Manager
• Adhere to all company, manufacturer, industry, OSHA, and regulatory safety procedures
• Establish positive working relationships with crew, customers, and subcontractors
• Conduct daily crew tool talk meetings to identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements
• Perform routine labor and operate equipment, including hauling equipment to and around project sites
• Represent PUSH, Inc. professionally at all times
• Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement processes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two years’ supervisory experience within a utility construction setting
• Demonstrated field experience with digging operations in city and rural areas around utilities
• Experience operating equipment such as backhoe/loader, excavator, cable plow, and compact track loader, including various attachments
• Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
• Strong leadership skills, including motivating, mentoring, and leading teams
• Ability to work well with others and participate on a crew
• Willingness to embrace new technologies
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Computer literate with experience using Microsoft and Google G Suite
• Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare project-related work reports
• Ability to handle stressful situations and workloads
• Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and multitasking skills
