Foreman (Midwest Region)

About the role

The Foreman leads the crew and operates equipment necessary to install various utilities and associated units to complete projects. Responsibilities include supervising and assisting with all aspects of projects such as safety, team management, equipment operation, field paperwork, training, and occasional labor duties.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed all safety, quality, and productivity requirements for assigned projects.
• Lead, direct, and mentor crews to ensure on-time completion while meeting financial and non-financial objectives.
• Staff projects, recruit new talent, retain existing employees, and promote career advancement.
• Manage employee relations, including recognition, discipline, and performance evaluations.
• Recommend subcontractors for approval and initiate training/cross-training for personnel.
• Handle daily scheduling and take corrective action to meet deadlines.
• Monitor project performance for productivity, safety, and quality; resolve issues as needed.
• Review and approve employee timecards and complete production reports daily.
• Perform preventative maintenance on construction equipment and report issues to the Fleet Manager.
• Report equipment hours, miles, and other details to the Fleet Manager weekly.
• Abide by company, manufacturer, OSHA, and industry safety standards and regulations.
• Establish positive working relationships with crew, customers, and subcontractors.
• Conduct daily crew toolbox meetings to identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Perform routine labor, operate equipment, and haul equipment to/from project sites.
• Represent PUSH, Inc. professionally at all times.
• Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years’ supervisory experience within a utility construction setting.
• Demonstrated field experience with digging operations in city and rural areas around utilities.
• Experience operating equipment such as backhoe/loader, excavator, cable plow, and compact track loader, including various attachments.
• Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead teams.

• Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft and Google G Suite.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare project-related work reports.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, carry, and lift as needed.
