About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience, and job knowledge.
  • Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures.
  • Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
  • Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc.
  • Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance.
  • Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

Requirements

  • BS/Apprentice OR High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience.
  • Internal candidates must have a Superior Attendance and Disciplinary Record.
  • Candidate cannot have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180 day period.
  • Candidate cannot have any safety DANS that result in a disciplinary layoff in last 180 day period.
  • Candidate cannot have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180 day period (excluding lost tool).
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.

  • BS/Apprentice OR High School and 6 years related Trade experience.

  • Experience as a workleaderman and/or performing Supervisor Re-Rate duties.
  • Applicant must be able to supervise, motivate, and train employees.
