About the role

The Foreclosure Paralegal I, positioned within the Office of Strategic Opportunities, is responsible for the pre-foreclosure process across various states. This role involves reviewing pre-foreclosure documents, onboarding documents, and utilizing systems like MSP, AIQ, and internal systems to ensure legal validity and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly review and confirm loan origination documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and confirm data within the MSP system for accuracy and reliability.
  • Review, download, and confirm loan documents using the AIQ document repository.
  • Complete quality control sheets per loan.
  • Maintain and organize case files, track deadlines, and ensure timely submission of necessary documentation.
  • Distribute workloads as necessary and ensure workflows within the team.
  • Respond to emails, provide accurate and timely information, and update client systems with onboarding process details.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, state laws, and federal regulations.
  • Review payoff statements, payoff histories, and previous monthly statements for accuracy and completeness, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Escalate issues as needed and assist with training new paralegal staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Paralegal Certificate
  • 5+ years of default law experience
  • Strong knowledge of judicial and non-judicial foreclosure processes
  • Previous default industry experience
  • Analytical document review capabilities
  • Able to respond to constructive feedback from management
  • Self-starter with exceptional problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to recognize and think analytically about changing environments
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Identifies and solves issues in a timely manner
  • Team player and willing to help others in the department
  • Extremely organized and capable of multi-tasking
  • Counsious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management, and attendance
  • Takes initiative in face of obstacles and identifies tasks needing attention
  • Demonstrates commitment to Firm’s vision, mission, and core values
