The Foodservice Production Cook is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while supporting daily kitchen operations. This role prepares, cooks, and serves food according to menu standards and guest requests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring all food meets Plum Market Foodservice’s quality expectations for flavor, presentation, and consistency while upholding proper sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, courteous, and professional service to guests.
  • Prepare, cook, heat, and serve all components of the daily menu following Plum Market Foodservice standards.
  • Maintain the hot bar during lunch service to ensure food is fresh, well-presented, and properly rotated.
  • Perform all food safety and sanitation practices, including daily equipment checks and temperature logs.
  • Demonstrate proper knife skills, portion control, and recipe execution.
  • Receive deliveries, stock shelves and coolers, and rotate products according to established standards.
  • Assist with catering orders, including preparation and delivery as directed by the Manager.
  • Support other stations as needed, including Sandwich and Salad.
  • Wash dishes as needed and keep all kitchen areas, equipment, and floors clean and in excellent working condition.
  • Sweep and mop floors daily to maintain sanitation and safety standards.
  • Communicate needs, issues, or concerns to Leadership promptly.
  • Uphold all Plum Market Foodservice policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Properly open and close the kitchen, including equipment checks, sanitation, and documentation.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a cook.
  • Ability to think quickly and step into different roles as needed to ensure service, food safety, and sanitation standards are met.
  • Understanding and practice of proper rotation principles and food safety standards.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to working alongside your team to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with guests, team members, and leadership.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break, bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
