Food Technologist

About the Role

A hands-on technical role focused on new product and process development for meat and poultry. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with creativity, manages multiple projects, communicates objectives clearly, adapts to change, and resolves conflicts independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure total satisfaction of internal and external customers.
• Supervise and execute daily projects assigned by the department.
• Train new associates on all processes and procedures.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.
• Build and maintain an effective R&D team.
• Communicate effectively with all customers (internal and external).
• Maintain accurate records of all tests performed.
• Ensure compliance with department requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Actively participate in research, justification, and implementation for long-range department and product-line planning.
• Travel up to 50% and lead product testing at other plant locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field OR equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of experience in an R&D environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Optiva PLM, Oracle, Halogen, and other company-provided software.
