Food Service Assistant, Long Term Care (LTC)

About the role

The Food Service Assistant position at GSS KS Hays Ctr is responsible for various tasks including monitoring food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and handling payments. This role also involves complying with HACCP guidelines, providing excellent customer service, and operating various kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper food temperatures
• Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area
• Prepare and serve food items
• Restock food areas
• Clean and sanitize equipment
• Receive and process payments using a computerized register
• Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers
• Comply with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Maintain quality control standards

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Previous customer service experience
• Knowledge of food service preferred
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
• Basic math skills
• Experience working in the food industry preferred
• Ability to work independently when necessary
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes
• Ability to stand for long periods and walk far distances

Qualifications
