Food Server - Meadow View

About the role

This position is part time, 4 hours per day (9:45 am - 1:45 pm), Monday through Friday, during the school year. The starting wage is $18.16+ per hour (based on experience). This position comes with paid time off and is benefit eligible.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance in preparing and serving food for school meals. The following duties are normal for this position:

• Prepares foods for meals
• Serves meals; monitors condiment tables, serving lines, etc.
• Cleans tables in cafeteria
• Orders supplies for dish room; puts away supplies
• Assists with end of year inventory
• Monitors dishwasher temperature; maintains log
• Fills in for cook and other food service personnel as required
• Restocks food and other items as required
• Follows safety and sanitation standards
• Cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas; washes dishes, pots and pans, utensils, counters, tables, sinks, equipment, coolers, etc., puts away dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of School Nutrition Program

Requirements

High school graduate with two to four months food service experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

The following physical and mental abilities are required to perform essential job functions:

• Ability to operate a variety of food preparation equipment and appliances
• Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must have current physical on file with the District Office certifying applicant is able to meet all job qualifications

Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Language ability and interpersonal communication skills to comprehend, interpret and/or prepare a variety of documents and communicate effectively with various individuals.

Skills

Ability to use and interpret food service terminology and work effectively in a kitchen environment.

Pay

The starting wage is $18.16+ per hour (based on experience).
