Salary: $15.45 - $23.18 hourly ($32,136 - $48,204 annually). This position is a Pay Band C1 and may be used to fill multiple positions.
About the role
This position is responsible for providing Food Server duties during the evening shift (11:30 PM - 7:30 AM) in the Dietary Department.
Responsibilities
- Use food thermometers and document results using a log book prior to serving meals.
- Prepare, assemble, and serve food according to diet orders.
- Wash raw fruits and vegetables.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning utensils, china, glassware, flatware, countertops, carts, floors, and sneeze guards.
- Operate and clean dishwashing machines, steam wells, and dishes.
- Store food and label with the name and date of the item.
- Check the daily menu to ensure all food items needed are available.
- Stock items for the day’s menu, such as condiments, salads, desserts, beverages, service-ware, and disposables.
- Report discrepancies, food shortages, special requests, and complaints.
- Assist in the preparation and assembly of snacks.
- Prepare carts with unit food based on census.
- Document daily log sheets for cleaning of dishwashers, refrigerators/freezers, sanitation buckets, etc.
- Follow proper procedures for diluting, labeling, and using chemicals.
- Report equipment that is not working properly and in need of repairs.
Customers
Patients, clients, residents, and employees.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in preparing large amounts of food.
- Experience in transporting meals to serving kitchens.
- Experience working in food services.
- Experience working with ovens, grills, mixers, knives, blenders, peelers, can openers, slicers, and other kitchen equipment.
Requirements
- No prior experience or training required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
- Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions
- Work primarily in a kitchen setting with exposure to high and low temperatures from ovens and freezers.
- Standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reaching above head and shoulders required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
- May be exposed to minor physical harm such as cuts from knives, kitchen machinery, and other kitchen equipment.
- This is a 100% tobacco-free and e-cigarette-free campus; no tobacco or e-cigarette products are permitted.
Pay
$15.45 - $23.18 hourly ($32,136 - $48,204 annually).
Schedule
Evening shift: 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM.
