Position Summary
Provides outstanding food and beverage and club event service to all club members and guests.
Essential Job Functions
- Delivers and promotes prompt, courteous and friendly service to all members, guests and employees.
- Performs opening duties and side work as assigned by manager.
- Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
- Answers questions and suggests menu items.
- Enters orders in to the club’s point of sale system and explains any special cooking instructions with accurate abbreviations of food items.
- Assembles food on tray.
- Serves meals according to service techniques.
- Checks back with guests/members to ensure satisfaction.
- Removes soiled dishes.
- Suggests and/or serves dessert, coffee, and/or after dinner drinks.
- Verifies accuracy of all checks before closing shift.
- Keeps tables, dining room, and server stations clean and tidy.
- Advises supervisor/manager of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
- Studies all menu items and is able to explain dishes to members and guests upon request or if a special item is being prepared.
- Distributes menus and seats members/guests, if hostess is not on duty or is busy.
- Attends pre-shift line-up meetings before each service shift.
- Attends staff meetings as scheduled by the clubhouse manager and/or dining room manager.
- Trains new staff members.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (varies by state).
- Education/Certifications/Licenses/Training: Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications.
- Experience/Background/Knowledge: Prior Server experience preferred.
- Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to perform basic math computations.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and taste or smell.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- At times, may be required to operate a motor vehicle.
