About the Role
This position involves adhering to and reporting on all aspects of food safety and quality-related functions. You will work closely with quality departments and plant leadership to ensure a safe work environment that efficiently manufactures high-quality products meeting customer specifications. The role aligns with the Food Safety Team and HACCP teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain work and operation areas to meet and exceed internal and external quality and food safety demands.
- Participate in customer work groups as needed to maintain appropriate relationships.
- Assist with product specifications at intervals that assure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.
- Ensure associate compliance in quality and food safety programs, policies, and procedures to meet or exceed established guidelines of regulatory agencies, customers, and GFSI.
- Assure the execution and adherence to Crown Bakeries’ quality and food safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain quality records and data to allow for an efficient flow of information to plant leadership and customers.
- Prepare for and participate in customer and regulatory audits to ensure superior audit scores and compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.
- Ensure effective gathering of information and documents related to investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, implementation of change control, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up through trending to ensure all corrective and preventive actions were implemented effectively.
- Communicate quality information to supervisors or managers through reports, meetings, and presentations on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Provide plant management with accurate data on company performance in quality.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of statistical and analytical problem-solving procedures preferred.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, food quality testing, and safety issues.
Work Environment
This job operates in a production environment. The employee is frequently exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
