Responsibilities
- Supervises the preparation of food and provides general cooking in a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility.
- Prepares food and provides general cooking.
- Prepares menus, consults with nutritionist and other professional contacts.
- Maintains records of amount of food served and number served.
- Prepares all forms for federal school lunch program.
- Maintains records for government commodities received and used; provides forms to the Department of Agriculture.
- Provides instructional kitchen skills to juveniles assigned to kitchen duties.
- Ensures proper supervision of juveniles.
- Prepares food requisitions and maintains food inventories.
- Maintains logs and inventory books on received and used foods and supplies.
- Maintains routine records for daily costs of meals.
- Maintains and reports attendance on juveniles for federal programs.
- Ensures new food items are received, checked, dated and stored properly.
Requirements
- EDUCATION: High school graduate.
- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of sub professional or professional experience in a food service operation.

Pay
Salary $40,356.00 Annually
