About the Role
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage, the Supervisor, Food and Beverage is responsible for the efficient scheduling and oversight of subordinate employees to improve the quantity and quality of work continuously and ensure efficient and economical work operations. This role involves planning, organizing, and addressing employee management concerns.
Responsibilities
- Assists with day-to-day operation of Food and Beverage venues, ensuring best-in-class service to guests while adhering to Enterprise service standards.
- Prioritizes training and understanding of all line-level positions to maintain and elevate brand standards, increasing guest satisfaction.
- Collaborates with venue leadership to develop and execute initiatives for sales growth, profitability, and cost control.
- Ensures communication and execution of department-wide fiscal and operational goals.
- Meets and maintains safety and health requirements, tracks completion of required training, and ensures timely and safe food service.
- Determines materials, equipment, and facilities needed for efficient operations.
- Ensures cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of workspaces and adjacent areas.
- Implements and enforces safety and security standards.
- Performs other duties to support efficient department operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and laws, including hiring, training, work assignment, performance evaluation, discipline, and problem resolution.
- Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning for key roles.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in hospitality management, food service, business, or related field required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant, customer service, or related experience required.
- Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with ability to collaborate and motivate.
- Ability to delegate, multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintains confidentiality and complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Provides friendly and efficient service, addressing guest and team member needs.
- Remains calm and efficient under pressure during busy periods.
Licenses and Certifications
- May require a gaming license at the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Must obtain and maintain ServSafe and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Primary work environment is in a Casino & Resort setting.
- Travel required for meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
- Fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds and moves up to 40 pounds.
- Sedentary work involving prolonged sitting and computer use.
- Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and secondhand smoke.
