The role
We are in need of a part-time delivery driver to take food from Roots and deliver to our customers. This is much more than just grabbing a pizza and dropping it at a front door. Sometimes there will be set up of the food involved. Sometimes you will be carrying a 30lb box down a hall, up an elevator, and down another hall. You will need to have access to an email and a working phone at all times. You'll be interacting with our customers via phone and in person—making you a face of Roots. Please note this is a contracted position, not a position of employment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food orders from Roots to customers
- Set up food at delivery locations when required
- Transport items up to 30 lbs, including navigating hallways and elevators
- Communicate with customers via phone and in person
- Maintain access to email and working phone during delivery hours
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Car insurance
- Reliable vehicle
- Very flexible schedule
- General availability between 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Access to email and working phone at all times
Schedule
Approximately 5 hours per week for the first month or two, growing to 10 hours per week over the next 6 months. Orders are emailed by 8:30 AM for the entire day.
Pay
Expected pay: average $40+ per delivery. This is a contracted position, not an employment position.
