About the role
This position is responsible for supervision of restaurant, bar, and room service operations, including adherence to health regulations. You will work with management to drive revenue, maximize profit, and ensure quality while supervising the food & beverage staff to ensure the department operates efficiently and business goals are achieved.
You will attend appropriate meetings, communicate effectively with staff, and be present on the restaurant floor during peak business hours. Responsibilities include opening and closing the restaurant as needed, ensuring food and beverage service standards are met, and responding to guest needs in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned staff to ensure achievement of financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive employee relations.
- Train and model appropriate guest service standards; resolve guest complaints courteously and focus on service recovery.
- Interview, hire, and develop associates; evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing feedback.
- Motivate the team by setting goals, recognizing achievements, and delivering discipline or corrective action as needed.
- Maintain training records, particularly for safe alcohol service training; analyze quality issues and implement training improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all company, brand, and department-specific training requirements.
- Implement service programs to attain revenue goals and build client relationships to drive repeat business.
- Develop and implement changes to food and beverage operations based on sales and guest feedback.
- Contribute to hotel profitability through effective expense and labor management, including proper scheduling and budget adherence.
- Follow CSM procurement guidelines and manage company assets within budget.
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain quality food, beverage, and kitchen/restaurant standards per CSM, brand, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 2 years of restaurant or food and beverage supervisory experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- ServSafe, TIPS, or CARE beverage service certification (or ability to obtain certification).
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and guests, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, transport, and connect a keg weighing up to 150 pounds occasionally with assistance.
- Requires extended hours based on business needs, with physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and lifting throughout the shift.
