Food and Beverage Supervisor
About the role
We are pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for Food and Beverage Supervisor. The primary responsibilities include executing and overseeing the setup of meeting spaces for banquet and catering events, working with and supervising kitchen staff, serving food and beverages, working closely with the Sales Team, welcoming guests, monitoring the dining area, assisting with ordering and controlling costs, assisting with scheduling staff, responding to guest inquiries, assisting in the selection, training, and development of team members, resolving operation issues, monitoring and controlling maintenance/sanitation, and assisting with gallery host/front desk responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee the setup of meeting spaces for banquet and catering events to ensure compliance with banquet event orders with optimal level of service, quality and hospitality.
- Work with and supervise kitchen staff on the timing of food preparation to ensure that meals are ready on time in accordance with specifications on the banquet event order, and are served in a visually appealing manner.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, reviewing the Banquet Event Order and making any necessary adjustments on the day of the event.
- Supervise and direct the prompt, efficient and friendly serving of all food and beverage for banquets and gallery.
- Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure clients are satisfied with all aspects of their events including room set up, F&B service, A/V functions, and food quality.
- Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of the Banquet areas and equipment to protect the assets and ensure quality service.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any guest questions or concerns.
- Assist in the selection, training, and development of team members.
- Resolve operation issues when necessary, ensuring proper follow through with appropriate team members.
- Ensure the hotel's overall hospitality image and objectives are maintained.
Requirements
- Ability to pass certification tests required to meet health department and brand standards.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Customer focus including experience in anticipating guest needs and responding pleasantly and professionally in a variety of settings and situations.
- Strong listening skills to ensure accurate understanding of guest wishes.
- Maintain composure to work effectively under pressure and to address and resolve guest problems or concerns.
- Ability to execute food and beverage events and direct staff strategically to ensure successful events.
- Approachable, encouraging effective communication with guests and fellow team members.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods of time.
Travel Requirements
This position would require little to no travel outside the property and surrounding area.
