About the role
The Food and Beverage Supervisor at Island Hospitality is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the F&B department, ensuring high standards of authenticity and hospitality. They lead by example, managing team members, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Cooking and serving food according to recipes and preparation methods
- Ensuring proper food safety and cleanliness standards are observed
- Handling cash and managing individual bank accounts
- Opening and closing the operation, including starting/cleaning equipment and reporting malfunctions
- Ordering, receiving, and stocking food and related items
- Leading team member selection and development
- Tracking sales and financial goals
- Responding to complaints and ensuring positive guest service
- Maintaining a fun, safe, and rewarding work environment
- Reporting kitchen equipment issues to the manager
Requirements
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office
- Leadership abilities and strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Pass Safe Food Handler Certificate Program within 60 days of hire
- One year of increasingly responsible restaurant/food service management experience
- Six months of previous bartending experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of restaurant administration, food preparation, and food safety
