Food & Beverage Team

The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency, leading food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food & Beverage areas of the store.

Role Overview

As a Food & Beverage Expert you will develop guest‑service fundamentals, learn department sales trends, inventory and quality management, food‑safety standards, merchandising, and promotional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing the guest’s needs over tasks.
• Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards.
• Execute Food & Beverage processes including deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, in‑stock routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, organizing and storing reserve product.
• Follow all food safety requirements as outlined in Target’s policies and procedures.
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Work with vendors to set, maintain and adjust sales‑floor merchandise displays and keep the backroom organized.
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process them according to Target’s policies.
• Be knowledgeable about store tools, products and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Execute all federal, state and local adult‑beverage laws as they apply to the business.
• Appropriately use and care for in‑store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment‑control guidelines.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work safely at all times, comply with safety policies and training, and report or correct hazards.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order‑pick‑up (OPU) and Drive‑up (DU) while maintaining compliance with applicable laws.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing tasks.
• Engage guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Perform all other duties based on business needs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be at least 18 years of age (Bakery only).
• Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple‑frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
• Maintain focus and composure in a fast‑paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes.
• Accurately handle cash‑register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders safely.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, frequently lifting or moving items up to 44 lb.
• Reliable and prompt attendance; flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays).
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 34 °F to ‑10 °F.
• Ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be present.
• Comfort with varying temperatures, humidity and other elements while performing duties such as Drive‑up and carry‑out.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift (shift length may vary).
