About the role
The FOIA Paralegal will provide support for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. This position requires strong legal research skills, familiarity with FOIA regulations, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze FOIA requests to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Prepare and respond to FOIA requests in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other departments to resolve complex legal issues related to FOIA requests.
- Manage and maintain FOIA request files and databases.
- Assist in training new employees on FOIA procedures and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, public policy, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in legal research or related field.
- Familiarity with FOIA regulations and court procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of legal research software and databases.
- Experience with FOIA request management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Pay
Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually.
