FOH Supervisor

About the role

At Tocaya we use bold flavors and the best ingredients to proudly create our signature "Modern Mexican" cuisine. Our versatile menu is rooted in traditional Mexican recipes and naturally accommodates a variety of preferences including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Supervisors assist the General Manager in maintaining a positive environment and setting the tone and flow for each shift.

Responsibilities

• Oversee opening/closing setup and procedures, including catering orders
• Perform daily food safety and quality checks
• Lead pre-shift meetings to inform the team of menu changes or special events and motivate staff
• Interview, hire, and train staff
• Submit nightly reporting, including handling large monetary transactions
• Perform all positions as needed, assist guests, and handle guest complaints
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked environment
• Ensure adherence to customer service standards, meal and break policies, and cash handling procedures
• Assign duties to staff during shifts and enforce company policies
• Implement new menu rollouts and educate team members
• Promote and enforce safe work practices, report safety hazards, and file incident reports
• Taste products during shifts for quality control and enforce company recipes, procedures, and processes
• Ensure all team members have up-to-date menu and standard operating procedure knowledge

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and special events as needed
• Well-organized, capable of multitasking, and detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations
• Current manager food handler card
• Leadership skills and ability to make decisions quickly and under pressure

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and frequently bend from the waist
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Frequent use of hands and arms in repetitive motions
• Ability to adjust vision to both day and night lighting and focus on distant and close ranges
• Regularly handle hot food and alcoholic beverages
• High school diploma or GED preferred

$20.10/hour + tips
