About the role
Join Methodist Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, as a Food Service Worker II PRN. This role involves preparing and serving foods and beverages in various food service operations.
Responsibilities
- Cafeteria: Cash register operations, meal passes, employee discounts, voids, and over rings; stocking paper goods and inventory items; maintaining attractive product appearance and sanitary conditions; adhering to HACCP guidelines; ensuring timely opening and closing of the cafeteria.
- Salad Aides: Following standardized recipes, monitoring food taste and appearance; reviewing menus for salads; practicing safe food handling techniques; completing tasks and deliveries on schedule; demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
- Nourishments: Performing routine diet nourishment functions; understanding and practicing safe food handling techniques; providing optimal service to patients and caregivers; understanding modified diets and resources.
- Plugger: Plugging in patient carts, adding temperature-sensitive items to trays, preparing shakes, and checking tray temperatures; demonstrating time-sensitive aspects of patient tray operations; maintaining cleanliness.
- Grill: Preparing grill and fried items in a sanitary and timely manner; assisting at steam table/salad bar/beverage areas; practicing safe food handling techniques; greeting and assisting customers/physicians; maintaining a clean work area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Some Food Service experience is desirable.
- Food Handlers permit or must obtain within two weeks of hire date.
