FNS Cashier II (Floater) - 6.75 hrs/day (190 days/school year calendar)

Responsibilities

• Operates Food Service Management software with proficiency and maintains system security.
• Documents an accurate daily count of student meals served by category (full price, reduced price, or free).
• Maintains accurate records of adult meals, student prepayments, milk, and a la carte sales daily.
• Responsible for charging correct prices for food and/or meals, making accurate change, and compiling daily bank deposits.
• Monitors student meal selections to guarantee compliance with federal School meal standards.
• Assists with garbage removal and cleaning of cafeteria floors and tables.
• May assist in preparing and portioning of food, setting up, cleaning, and maintaining the service areas.
• Maintains standards of sanitation and safety.
• Communicates effectively with students, faculty, parents, fellow workers, and supervisors personally, on the phone, via email, and in writing.
• Maintains good public relations.
• Provides sales data for production records.
• Assists in troubleshooting data discrepancies.
• Monitors student meal benefits and assists families with the application process.
• Communicates with Operations office to resolve issues.
• May assist in training Cashier I.
• Responsible for enforcement of the district's charge policy, including communicating with families for debt collection.
• Assists managers with input of orders, inventory, and payroll.
• Performs duties in accordance with the principles outlined in the "Davenport Community School District Cashier Handbook."
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer experience (Email, Word, and Excel) preferred but not required.
• Competence in the areas of responsibility listed above.
• Ability to work in a standing position for prolonged periods and walk much of the day.
• Ability to work in very warm surroundings.
• Manual dexterity to handle knives and other kitchen equipment.
• Able to lift materials weighing at least 46 pounds.
• May be required to climb stairs.

Pay

Rate of Pay: $16.12/hr

Schedule

6.75 hours per day, 190 days per school year calendar
