FLORAL/DESIGNER

About the role

Design and merchandise floral items and arrangements for display/sale or in response to customer requests. Provide customer services.

Responsibilities

• Design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders.
• Greet customers, offer assistance, take and fill orders.
• Package orders cheerfully, effectively, safely and efficiently.
• Keep the department area clean and free from clutter.
• Keep merchandise and supplies in their proper areas.
• Provide good customer and associate relations.
• Maintain customer records and files properly.
• Aid in decorating and merchandising the department.
• Handle telephone calls and Florist Transworld Delivery orders promptly and courteously.
• Assist in providing good customer and employee relations.
• Able to effectively communicate with customers and associates.
• Make a neat, clean impression on customers.
• Promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously and professionally interact with customers and associates.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly in maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.

  Qualifications

  • Minimum three years full-time retail design experience or six years part-time retail design experience for Florist Transworld Delivery certification.
  • Floral Design School equals six months full-time retail design experience.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for filling customer needs and designing floral arrangements.
  • Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
  • Able to calmly, courteously and tactfully handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
  • Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
